NEW YORK, NY — April 10, 2013 – Logo TV announced today that electro-pop artist Penguin Prison will DJ this year’s “Logo NewNowNext Awards 2013” premiering Monday, April 15 at 10/9C on Logo. Carrie Preston and Jake Shears have been added as a presenter and “Rupaul’s All Stars Drag Race” winner Chad Michaels is booked as trophy presenter. Also announced, Selena Gomez will be on hand to accept the “Triple Play” Award for her achievements in television, film and music.
Previously announced presenters for this year’s “Logo NewNowNext Awards” include: Tamar Braxton, Ciara, Tabatha Coffey, Perez Hilton, Ross Mathews, Heather McDonald, Adam Pally, Pauley Perrette, Naya Rivera, Adam Rodriguez, RuPaul and Barry Sloane, among others. It was also previously announced that actress and comedian Aisha Tyler will host, and Ke$ha, indie pop duo Tegan and Sara and alternative rock band New Politics will perform at this year’s event. Also, TV host and media mogul Chelsea Handler will present eight-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist and dynamic entrepreneur Fergie with the “Always Next, Forever Now” Award, and Kylie Minogue will receive the “Dance Floor Hero” Award.
Logo TV personality Willam, along with the always funny Louis Virtel, will be hosting the “Logo NewNowNext Awards 2013” red carpet livestream, beginning Saturday, April 13 at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT on TheBacklot.com.
Now in its sixth year, Logo’s “NewNowNext Awards” have earned a reputation for breaking new ground in pop culture. The highly praised and always unpredictable telecast is one big party that grants the gay stamp of approval to pop culture icons and trendsetters as well as stars-on-the-rise and celebrates what’s hot in TV, music, film and fashion for 2013 and beyond. Winners will be revealed Monday, April 15 at 10/9C, during the 90-minute “Logo NewNowNext Awards 2013” telecast. The special will be taped in front of a live audience of today’s hottest emerging and seasoned artists at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood, CA on April 13.
